In a move certain to please small and medium business owners, social media management platform HootSuite announced today the addition of new features to help users learn more about their Twitter followers.
Using the influence scoring algorithm developed by Klout, HootSuite allows users to sort their followers by who has the most influence on Twitter, enabling companies and brands to better prioritize their Twitter conversations.

When viewing a list of followed users or replies on HootSuite, users can now filter them by their Klout Score - a zero to 100 ranking that estimates their degree of influence within Twitter based on a whole slew factors like number of active followers, links clicked and engagement with other users. A small slider on the right can be used to adjust the desired Klout Score, filtering out users as the score increases.
The same users can also be filtered by keyword, which can be helpful for sifting through a large network to find the most helpful tweets and pinpoint potential customers.
HootSuite has also added a new layer of information about each user, in addition to the standard Twitter bio that displays when their user name is clicked. A new tab labeled "Insight" shows the user's age, gender, additional profile images an/> [...]
There is a new LinkedIn app called Creative Portfolio Display. The app lets users in creative industries like advertising, fashion, design, architecture, film, photography, and digital media, access tools to manage and showcase their portfolios.
"Personal websites don’t adequately broadcast your work for discovery by industry peers and top companies and neither is it tied to your professional identity on the web," says Scott Belsky, CEO of Behance, which created the LinkedIn app. "Plus, keeping your work samples up to date on multiple websites is inefficient, resulting in portfolios becoming outdated and forgotten."
That's where LinkedIn Creative Portfolio Display comes in. Belsky lists the following key features:
From one central portfolio, your work can be displayed within LinkedIn, Behance.net, AIGA, MTV, and other networks/galleries around the web.
The Behance Network is a free service, allowing you to host an unlimited number of multimedia projects that include still images, video reels, text, and/or audio samples.
Creative Portfolio Display seamlessly syncs with your free Behance.net account; Create a new portfolio project on Behance.net, and it instantly appears on LinkedIn and our other partner platforms.
This may prove to be an invaluable tool for LinkedIn users. The professional social network already plays a huge role in job hunting and recruiting, and t/> [...]
Best Buy is getting into the Internet video rental and sales game, joining the likes of Netflix, YouTube and, at some point in the near future, Hulu.
The company will also be competing against other traditionally offline retailers, such as Walmart and Blockbuster. The move, it said Tuesday, will come by the end of the month and will involve selling and renting newly-released movies over high speed Internet connections.

According to the company's press release, the service will be available through a number of select connected Blu-ray Disc players and HDTVs, as well as on PCs by way of CinemaNow. Best Buy purchased CinemaNow from Sonic Solutions, the company that will provide the technology for piping video to buyers.
Immediate availability of new releases is a primary feature of Best Buy's new Internet video service. Rentals will be available for around $4 with title purchases varying from $10 to $20. The one hesitation we have with this is, why should a DVD purchase, minus the physical DVD, cost the same?
